Management Committee of the Pilot Subsidy Scheme for Third-party Logistics Service Providers further approved funding amounting to HK$7.4 million for 13 new projects

The Management Committee (MC) of the Pilot Subsidy Scheme for Third-party Logistics Service Providers (Pilot Scheme) approved on September 27, 2024 a total of 13 new projects (including projects on application of technology as well as purchase of X-ray machines and Explosive Trace Detection equipment for setting up Regulated Air Cargo Screening Facilities by logistics service providers), with the approved funding amounting to around HK$7.4 million.  As at 27 September, 2024, the MC approved a total of 262 projects, with the total amount of approved funding around HK$157 million.

The HK$300 million Pilot Scheme was launched on October 12, 2020 to encourage the logistics trade to enhance productivity through application of technology. New enhancement measures of the Pilot Scheme have taken effect from 1 February 2024. The Pilot Scheme was enhanced in February this year, with the cumulative funding ceiling for each applicant enterprise increased from $1 million to $2 million and the scope of funding extended to cover project-based training and services related to the application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) technology solutions.  Please refer to the Guide to Application for details.

The MC comprising members from the logistics trade, industrial and professional sectors has been set up by the Transport and Logistics Bureau to consider and approve applications received under the Pilot Scheme.  Various factors (including the eligibility of applicant enterprises under the Pilot Scheme, the relevance of proposed projects to the applicant enterprises’ businesses, as well as the budget and implementation details of projects) have been taken into account by the MC in vetting the applications.  The MC will continue to monitor the implementation progress of the Pilot Scheme.

The Pilot Scheme is open for applications all year round. Enterprises may contact the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the Implementation Partner of the Pilot Scheme, for enquiries and submission of application (telephone: 2788 6077, email: [email protected]).
